A fun commentary on small town life on the western slope of Colorado. I laughed so hard when I recognized certain types of people (I could actually put names to them but I won't here). Ending was not predictable at all. such a delightful change of pace. Kym and Mark Todd brought a tremendous amount of research and understanding to this read. Thanks for letting me revisit the small towns of my past.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wild-character, fast moving and fun book. I should have seen the link to the second book in the series, but I didn't and loved reading that last paragraph! Even my seven-year old son enjoyed hearing bits of the story. There was some mild language that I had to edit as a read it. I would definitely recommend to all.
I have studied thoroughly the subject of "Small towns in Colorado" by watching "South Park" and reading "Little Greed Men". My conclusion is They are full of freaks. And get visited by UFOs.
Evil mastermind Buford Price and con artist Billy do their worst to make Silverville a Mekka for UFO enthusiasts. Not everyone in the village likes this, and so everything evolves into a cascade of bloodcurdling incidents and unexpected developments. The end is a total surprise and completely outrageous, but I won't spoil it for you.
The book strikes me as a kind of American Tom Sharpe experience, with a dash of Carl Hiaasen. It's a great comedy and also offers a couple of nice love stories to round it up. I strongly recommend it.
Are you looking to squelch the UFO-doubters once and for all? Need conclusive data to support your extraterrestrial viewpoint? Well, here's a book that might help. Join the cast of Silverville characters as they sort out a bizarre, glowing turn-of events. This is a clever novel about the wacky life in small-town America. A pleasure from cover to cover.
mystery awaits. As a small-town girl, I couldn't put this book down. From the opening lines to the end, I laughed and empathized with the cleverly written characters. The plot struck close to home, and the characters are ones who I might have known in my childhood. Don't let the cover fool you... Todd and Kim bring readers into the very real struggles of small town economics and survival in an honest way and leave us thinking.
When Howard encounters Alien Visitors in his hometown of Silverville, Colorado, they give him an important message. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember what the message is.
But Buford Price capitalizes on the encounter anyway. The whole town does. Every business it seems is renamed and revamped with a UFO theme. And now the people of Silverville are ready to "go public".
They've built a theme park and hired a UFO specialist from out of town. Earl Bob Jackson.
But while relieving himself outside of his car in a Colorado snowstorm, Earl Bob is hit and killed by Billy Noble. Billy is a con man looking for "The Big One". When Billy realizes that he killed this man, he takes his wallet loaded with cash and his car. The dead man doesn't need them anymore.
When Billy arrives in the next town (Silverville), he's greeted at the local diner by a small group of men who naturally mistake him for Earl Bob. After hearing their plans for the town, Billy thinks this just might be the Big One he's been looking for.
If he only knew what kind of Adventure he's really in for...
Little Greed Men is a fun, quirky and irreverent little novel — I found myself chuckling all the way through it. As a Colorado native, I can attest to how well this story reflects the often farcical dynamics of life in rural mountain communities. The characters are believable, relate-able and keep you guessing. But what makes this novel special is its narrative voice — it's tongue-in-cheek, engaging and just plain smart in so many ways. If you are looking for an amusing afternoon read, then Little Greed Men is definitely for you!
The Silverville Saga is a highly entertaining series about the visitors and inhabitants of the small mountain town of Silverville, Colorado. Silverville captures the essence of small town communities with artistic flair, but the unusual goings on are hardly those of a typical mountain town. These two co-authors have shed new light on the way small town mountain communities are viewed. They may or may not look normal on the surface, but behind the scenes, you’d never guess at what’s really going on.
Little Greed Men, book one of the Silverville Saga, is hilariously intriguing as the story of how Silverville turns from a run of the mill mountain community into a hopeful tourist destination unfolds. When UFO’s are sighted in the small Colorado mountain town of Silverville, things get a little crazy. The colorful characters that inhabit this small mountain town and their curious antics lead readers through more plot twists than the curves of a winding mountain pass as events unfold with surprising outcomes. The whole town is turned upside down as believers, skeptics and those who are simply curious flow in. Small town politics come into play when two factions clash, the old-timers, happy with their small town lives and the progressive movers and shakers who want to put Silverville on the map. There’s no end to the things some folks will do to make a quick buck and how far others will go to see things put back to normal. Little Greed Men is a thoroughly enjoyable read that will keep readers chuckling to the last page.
