When Enrico Lucchesi was sent to boarding school in England, at age 16, after the murder of his mother and brothers, he met a woman and fathered a son out of wedlock. But due to the peace agreement between the Lucchesi family and the Andretti family, he had to return to Italy and marry Antonella Andretti, forsaking his son, Nick and Nick’s mother. If any of the mafia found out he’d broken the peace accord by having a son, then he, his father, and his son would have all been murdered. He was heartbroken over it, but Nick’s heart hardened with abandonment.

Nick Clarkston became an Interpol agent who wanted retribution against the father who let him down and abandoned him and his mother when he was just a boy. Nick only saw Enrico a few times and only spoke to him on the phone a couple times after Enrico left them in England. Nick now works for Interpol and believes that he can best get his revenge by investigating his dad as a Mafioso and putting him in jail. Unfortunately, Nick goes to Dario Andretti, Enrico’s former brother-in-law, to help him with his case against his father.

Delfina Andretti is the daughter of Dario & Illaria Andretti and the older sister to Cristoforo. The only life she knows is the mafia life, and it is a life that she wants to escape. She doesn’t want to be used as a pawn in an arranged marriage to strengthen her father’s cosca. Delfi’s dream is to pursue a career in fashion and to become a designer in her own right and not just on her family name or her father’s money. Nick may be her ticket out of the life. But when she learns of his true plans, she doesn’t know if she can help him put her family in jail because they will also go down if he takes down Enrico. Delfina also tries to help Nick see past his young hurt and see his father through adult eyes.

I absolutely loved this book and was intrigued with future stories. This is the second time that I’ve read this book and have read both of the next two. I love Dana Delamar’s story telling and attention to detail. Her books are passionate & flawless.

Suspense, suspense, suspense! Absolutely loved this book. Book 1 was so enjoyable I truly did not expect book 2 to live up to those expectations. It did, and surpassed them. I absolutely adored Delfina from the beginning, your "Principessa". All she wants is to be normal, to not be a mafia princess & make it as a fashion designer. Nick, the illegitimate son of Enrico Luchessi, who wants nothing but revenge on his dad for abandoning him as a child. What he doesn't know is that Enrico did it to protect him, to keep him far away from the Ndrangheta, which Nick falls right into. You struggle with Nick as he tries to deal with his mums death, abandoned by his dad, and figuring out his feelings for Delfi. Wonderful love story, sexy, sultry, seductive & heartwarming . The suspense on the last couple of chapters is so intense my blood pressure truly shot through the roof & gave me plenty of heart palpitations. You absolutely want to read this book, another amazing job by this author. I was hoping book 3 would be about Antonio and I am so happy it is. Great job, can't wait for the next one.
Retribution
What a powerful journey. Enrico’s son works for Interpol and is out for revenge against his father. Is dream is to take down the mafia families including his father. He lands in the lap of Enrico’s enemy will he ever make it out alive? After his mother’s death he cannot love anyone.
The Russians are coming in and trying to take over. Can the two families stop the dealings behind their back or will s*** hit the fan and all-out war start?
This series is action packed to the very end. Very well written and plotted and very easy to follow. I have indeed found a new Author.

Antonio has many surprises dropped in his lap; can he handle them and the men out to destroy him? An old love happens back into his life with a life changing secret; can he love and forgive her? Will Enrico allow him to have her if he does? Seems like Antonio is always being passed by when it comes to being Enrico’s son and the one to truly inherit all can that ever change or will the bond Enrico makes with his nephew keep Antonio just on the edge.
